Anyone worn out anything yet?

I've put my XD45 service just past the 2500 round mark and I'm still wondering if anything will need to be replaced soon. It hasn't malfunctioned in over 1500 rounds(It was briefly afflicted by the classic FTF issue caused by a faulty mag). I'm pleased, yet getting anxious...How long can she go?

Dang man, and I thought I was being neurotic when I broke out the Q-tips and watched Fight Club in its entirety while I cleaned my gun last time!

514 rounds, eh? Wanna trade recoil springs?

Wink Recoil spring maybe

I don't know about the 5" Tac but the recoil spring Assy. in my 4" service is still really strong. Since S.A. is selling the replacment spring Assy. for $14 I did order one just to have it on hand.

My 1911 Kimber 4" really works the recoil spring over and after the recomended change at 800 rounds it sure was shorter then the replacment spring.

Seems the XD-45 service is not going to be a RC spring killer.

Glad to see that there are other FOCD (firearm obsesive compolsive disorder) suffers out there! A clean gun is a happy one!

I have run about 5000 rounds through my 45acp tactical and have not replace the spring yet, but i had thought about doing it just because.

I have not noticed any problems whith it, but it definately feels broken in.

I tried to order a spare recoil spring for my Tactical a couple of months ago. I was told that they were not available yet. She said they shouldn't wear out anyway as the spring is never fully depressed. Not sure I agree with but that's what she said.

Wink Tac. Recoil Spring

I would keep watching the overall length of the Tac's R.S. and if started getting a lot shorter then I would worry about needing a new spring.

Hey guys, don't forget the Lifetime warranty...

They wouldn't do that if they thought the beast would wear out in a mear 5,000 to 10,000 rounds!

My HS2000 has a tad over 5K rounds and I've only replaced the extractor at ~2400 rounds because of FTE problems with WWB. No malfunctions since. I also replaced my guide rod and recoil spring with Don's, can't remember when.

edit: oops, just realized this was the .45acp forum...

I've got about 1500 through my 4" service ACP. Had some FTL issues but they are resolved.
