New XD45SC Information
(Sorry, I shouldn't tease.)
I just finished reading some of the older threads regarding the future possibility of an XD45 subcompact model and there seems to be great interest... including me. Is there anything new regarding the XD45SC; nothing on the Springfield Armory website?

Well, if they don't introduce one in January, then you could always modify a service model and mags...

So what are the alternatives? Kahr .45ACP? Taurus 745?

If you're dead set on a .45, the .45 service or tac as Ronnie mentioned. If you're dead set on the SC size, then go with the 9mm SC or 40SC. Any potential caliber issues/concerns you have will be far outweighed by the XD's reliability, durability, and accuracy. but yeah, i too await the day for the .45 SC to come out.... while i carry my XD9SC or 40 Service |

I called "The Mecca" (Springfield) a few months before they anounced the release of the 45ACP Tactical. I sweet talked the girl on the phone into telling me a ball park on the release date. Possible early 2007 for the SC?

The taurus pt-145 is a great bang for the buck 3" 45 to use in the meantime. I had both the pt-145 and xd40sc and sold the sc. I also have the xd45 service and love it, but for daily carry I prefer the pt-145. I may get the 45sc if and when it comes out, but in the meantime I prefer the 145 and to me it felt better in the hand than the 745.

I've been using a PT-745 for the last 2 summers (otherwise I carry the XD45), while waiting for the XD45SC. I like the PT-745, light-weight, good accuracy AND it fits my XD45 holsters

Yep, I left that part out. I use the pt-145 (and the xd45) in a holster I got for the sc40 so either it or the 745 will fit in them. Fits perfect.
IT's pretty much the same size as the sc and the grip is the same length as my sc was with the pearce extentions. |
