Well I took my XD-45 service to the range today I really was testing my surefire X200B to make sure it stayed put on the XD while being fired and it did.
Also I was just wanting to get a few more rounds through the XD so it was a nice time to do both. There was a man shooting a .40 XD next to me we talked about our handguns and I asked if he would care to shoot my service model he said yes and shot the tightest group off hand I ever had seen much better then I could do it bench rested. "ouch" Turns out he is a Marine who trains other Marines in handgunning. This proved to me that there is nothing that some real pratice would make my shooting of my XD better. The XD will shoot if someone knows how to shoot it. Hey thanks Joe hope to see you again. |

Cool experience. I guess that means we have good taste in guns.
I shot today and improved a bit as well. I'm new to XDs also. One thing that troubles me..The only time I hit true bulls-eyes was when I ignored the advice and sort of jerked the last bit of trigger pull. Like my release on my bow sort of. I think of it as "punching it home". That's how it feels mentally. The physical motion is almost the same as my learned trigger technique. I have heard of slapping the trigger, but mine is stock so I just tried this as I was messing around, getting frustrated at always being near the bull but so rarely in it. Weird.
