About to purchase SA custom package...worth waiting 6 months?

I don't own an XD yet since I was waiting for the .45. Now that it is here, is it worth waiting 6 months for a custom package from the SA Custom Shop? I always prefer a crisp trigger and most of my pistols have had custom work. I have never shot an XD but have heard great things about it. I live in MD so I have to procure a MD compliant pistol with fired casing. Are there any other top custom shops that do a great job but maybe with a shorter waiting list? Also, how is the Armory Kote finish?...durable?

Most likely will want the following:
- 4-5lb crisp trigger with short reset and little overtravel
- low mount Bo-Mars with F.O. front sight(Dawson??)
- Barrel refit
- refinish
Thanks for any links/feedback

Dave

You may be better served to contact Cayon Creek and see if Rich has any Production Ready guns in the shop. It may be faster and less money.
  • Low mount Bo-mar sights with full width front dovetail, plain or fiber optic.
  • Trigger job set to your pull weight +2# and up.
  • Tungsten insert in factory guide rod.
  • SA extended mag release.
  • Grip wrap.
  • Slide is refinished in KG-Gun Kote flat black ceramic.
  • Available calibers 9mm-.40 s&w-.45 acp

Old School: Thank you for the link/info. I'll give him a call and see if he can provide a sealed fired casing. Thanks! Dave
