Xd Gear Holster

Does anyone here use the XD Gear holster that came in the package? It looks like it will scratch the finish on my .45 Im not ready to get it scratched up yet. I need at least 600 more rounds thru it first.

It just did not impress me, so I left mine in the box. But if you're budget doesn't allow for a high end holster then use it.

What size belt is that thing for anyhow? Mine flops around on my smaller belt...its almost like you need a 2" instructor belt

The way I look at it, I paid for the gun and the case. Anything else that comes with it that actually works is gravy. And just so you know, I tried on the holster once, and that was enough to convince me that something in leather or soft nylon is the way to go. I can see the mag loader maybe being useful, and the same for the mag carrier if I try some defensive pistol stuff, but that holster needs to be super-glued into its little foam shadow forever and ever, amen.

I used it for about 2 or 3 matches, until I got a BladeTech.

Springfield did a stellar job of ruining a great gun package by adding that extra junk with it. Another mag would have been much better. I really gave the extras the benefit of the doubt by wearing the holster and mag holder for about a week. They are now in my "no longer needed holster" box.

Completely agree! Wore it to the range once and started going through all my other holsters to see what I could use until I can afford something better ie Tucker Texas Heritage IWB! Heck even a Fobus paddle holster is better.
BTW IS the XD Gear holster made by Fobus?? Both the holster and mag carrier are marked Israel.

The mag pouch is not that bad, but I agree with the holster statement, is "trash" and they (SA) should have included another mag.

On a sufficiently wide belt (NOT a 1/2" dress belt) it works acceptably. It's not the best, and while it won't "scratch" the finish, the grip point will probably wear the finish a bit. I tried it for a day and it did what it's supposed to do. But I like the pistol pulled in close, and I ended up using a pancake style.
