Service intervals...

So, my service model is nearing 1500 rounds, with no time off in sight. As I rack up the round count, I'm beginning to wonder when I'll need to replace things like the recoil springs, firing pin springs, magazine springs, etc...How long should I wait to address this? Am I going to have to send my gun in( ) when that time comes? What do you guys think?

I've never detail stripped it, but I field strip and clean it every 200 rounds or so...

Edit: I should also add that I shoot about a 100 rounds a week, and use a lot of +P ammo...

As far as I know.. none of your springs, or parts will need to be replaced as a matter of "maintenance."

There is one exception though.. the guide rod/spring assembly. After about 5000 rounds or so through my XD9 (service) I could see that the guide rod's ends were showing major wear, and looked as if they might break off eventually. So I emailed Don who sent me a new spring and rod.. total cost was like $12.00 or something. I got a 22# spring which really smoothed out the pistols performance.. but I would suggest getting two or three different springs in different weights to see which you like best.

(edit)Ooops.. I thought I was in the XD General talk room.. Never mind what I posted.. I don't think Don has guide rod and spring for the XD45... I read somewhere that there are some proto-types though.. (/edit)

There is a guide out for the 45 Tacticals... but no one makes a replacement spring for it so you will have to use the stock one.

As for wear, I have about 2000 rounds through it and not a single malfunction. There are people on this forum with more rounds then that and I haven't read of one incident where they had to get something replaced due to wearing something out. Contact Springfield and see if what they say. I am sure they have a lot more rounds through a XD, then anyone here.
