Cabelas

So there is a huge Cabelas being built here in my town, Should I be excited? Ive never shopped at Cabelas or even know what is special about them, how will there prices stand against walmart or sportsmans warehouse? I went on Cabels web site to check some suff out and it seems they sell bulk ammo? I guess the days of some what paying out the butt for 45 acp is over for me, right?

What else should I be excited about this store?

In my area, between Cabelas, Academy and Cheaper Than Dirt, Cabelas has the best prices on guns. That's reason to be excited.

I would be excited. I love looking at new things that you normally don't shop for. And if they honored their online prices at the stores then you have it made with ammo. Cabellas has some of the best prices on ammo.

I love going to Gander to see what new toys they have.

Like Academy, they don't list them online. I don't know why. Same with Cheaper Than Dirt.

Let's see...a store with everything that you can think of for hunting, fishing, camping, archery, etc. Oh yeah, they also have a pretty good restaurant...not to mention home decorating stuff, couches, chairs and a country store (for my wife), and a shooting gallery to keep the kids happy. You should be REALLY excited. There's one close to me in Wheeling, WV. When we go it ends up being an all-day affair

Coming from the homestate of Cabelas and shopping there for YEARS, I have one piece of advice, "know what something should cost before going in". They are REALLY good on some things and REALLY bad on others. If you are going to make a big purchase, like a gun, etc., look around first, don't assume they have the best deal.

That being said, I have dropped thousands at Cabelas, including my XD40 and most of my reloading supplies!
