spring and guide rod
What are the advantages/disadvantages of changing the spring and guide rod? Will such changes affect the warranty?

It will not affect the warranty. The advantage is a heavier rod and/or the ability to change spring weights. The same advantage with any other guide rod.

Lighter springs cycle faster, heavier rod helps reduce muzzle flip. However, it is all a matter of preference. Whatever feels good to you and keeps you on target.
