Novaks for our XD45s?

Anyone have info on whether or not we'll ever see Novaks for our XDs? I think the closest sight would be the TFOs, but I don't know for sure.

R,
Doug

A while back I got this reply from them. I'm a little uncomfortable with this as SIGs are rounded on top and our XD's are flat. I want the snag free Novak sights.

The sight set that fits the Sig pistols is the same that is used on the XD.

Two years ago at the SHOT Show I asked them if they had any plans on making sights for the XD line. His response was there is no money in making sights for the XD. I pressed the issue a little bit more and he told me to make them myself and make a pile of money doing it. Since then Novak sights are not on my top list for sights for any gun.
This year I asked a barrel maker if they had any plans on making after market barrels for the XD. Response not worth investing on tooling up for a non existant market, yet they make Sig barrels which are fairly close in design.
We just have to face it the XD is a red headed step child at the moment in the eyes of the uniformed.

Rich is correct in the sense that a lot of the aftermarket folks are slow to catch on as some still think the XD is a flash in the pan. We had one guy at SHOT goes as far as to say that SA will drop the XD as soon as sale slow down. After hearing what the guy just said, Rich picked the guy up over his head and slammed him on the ground, screaming, "Don't disrespect the XD or Springfield Armory!"

So how long has the XD been out now? A few years at least. My local gun shops sell all of them that they get. Everybody speaks highly of them. The XD-45 won pistol of the year last year. It's as close to a perfect pistol as one can get in design and execution. It's a terrific pistol with a lot of owners. What's it going to take? This is a big market that nobody is taking advantage of. I don't get it. This gun is here to stay.

Yet, dealers can't seem to keep them on the shelves. Hmmmmm. So this then begs the question, what sight design comes at least sorta-kinda close? Heinie? I really like the "flatness" of that type of sight system, but if Mr. Novak is being a butthead about it, then I'd be proud to buy a system from someone else.

If you want a low mount sight, the Heinies or the Dawson Fixed are both great options.
