Aaaargghh local gun store selling ANY XD for $450

I paid $539 for mine.

Only thing that makes me feel better is that it was only for Veteran's day.

Shows how low they can reasonably go though.

That's exactly what I paid.

Any chance the guns they are advertising are from the used gun case? FLDs pay about that for new ones at jobber price from their distributor, a bit less if they are a Springfield master dealer buying direct. I don't doubt you at all, but that is not good business practice if they cannot make at least 10-15%.

Those numbers lead me to believe that they are willing to make only $25 or so on new guns, which doesn't add up.

Well, if it was just for Veterans day, they may have felt they could lower their profit on the gun to get more people in, then make it up on the sales of the related items like ammo, holsters, cleaning equip, range bags, etc. If people feel like they saved money on the gun, they're more likely to buy more of those other items that they may have otherwise put off buying.

A guy I work with has a gun shop on the side and he told me last week that his cost on XD45's is $400.00. He says any dealer can get them for that price.

I just went to the local my preffered local gun store, and they had a big Father's Day sale. The Place was "packed" and XD, S&W's AR's where flying, along with some 308 savage rifles.

the Xd's were on sale from $389.00 (9mm sub) to $425 (45 ACP Service) NIB. I was tempted to buying the 9 ported, but after reading here how many fokls are having problems with them, I restrained.

A week after I had bought 2 (4"ACP and SC9) I was back in the store buying ammo.

They guy recoginized me and asked if had my receipts. They had put the guns on sale and he gave me the difference.

Thought that was nice and the right thing to do.

$399 for a NIB XD45.

Isn't that less than cost ?
