Double tap ammo in 45 ACP

Hey all.

I just got a XD 45 tactical. I was wondering if any of you have tried the .45 acp ammo from doubletapammo.com. Their specs look quite impressive. I have tried their 10mm rounds in a friends Glock, those rounds are very powerful and clean. Anyone tried any of the 45 ACP's?

Doubletap works fine in my XD-45 Tactical, although the 185 grain has a pretty big muzzle flash. The 200 gr. was OK, but the 230 gr. felt the best to shoot. The XD really reduces the recoil compared to shooting DT out of my 1911s.

Just the DT ammo or all ammo in general? I've found my XD-45 5" to be a more sharply recoiling pistol than my aluminum or steel framed 1911's and also my Glock 21. The XD feels like a 40 cal to me when I shoot it. I don't like the sharp kick as much as my other .45 acp guns. Maybe it's just me. I still love the XD though, it's nearly the most perfect pistol I own.

I would say all ammo in general, but DT in particular. To me, the recoil in the XD is a bit softer than my 1911s, which feels a tiny bit sharper. Perhaps this is due to the plastic flexing in the XD as opposed to the slide hitting solid metal in a 1911. Muzzle flip is a bit greater with the XD though. All in all, both are pleasant to shoot.
