The 45gap round may be ok, but I've always felt the concept was a loser. The only shooters who'll prefer the round, will be those with exceptionally small hands....who want to shoot pistols with exceptionally large grips.

In the case of the XDs, the 45gap may have done alright, but only if the 45acp weren't available. The drastic reduction in price for an XD-45gap is a confirmation of that. Since the XD is now available in 45acp, and the grip is so darn comfortable for everyone but 95lb 5'0" women, I see the death knell of the XD in 45gap soon a'comming.

The 45gap may very well survive with some manufacturers, but I can't see it happening with the XD.

Isn't the GAP 45 ammo sometimes hard to come by as well? I thought ive read that before somewhere, but I always see it at the gun shops and what not so......

I might consider the GAP in a sub compact because I don't think I'd be shooting any +P out of a 3", but would probably hold out for the ACP just because of the availability of the ammo.

I agree, I just don't see the "Major" evolution/revolution "value" to more folks from either the 45 ACP, the 40, the awesome 10mm and the recoil friendly 9mm. Now show me a Mach 2.5 9mm out of a 4" barrel, and we are talking serious revoltion.

I would like/love to see a ported 45 ACP both in 5" and 4", match barrel, intergrated Lasermax, Magwell, Stainless Steel, with TFO's.

I drull....
