Springfield Custom fiber optic sight set

This is an image of the Springfield Custom fiber optic sight set (red front, green rear) on an XD. I got it from the Custom shop when I asked what they looked like. I am looking at the XD Carry Pro package.

"Estimated turnaround time for completion of the Carry Pro Package on an XD is approx. 6-8 weeks from receipt of the handgun in our shop. Attached is a picture of the Springfield sights with the fiber optic inserts which will give you an idea of the shape of the Springfield sights. The only difference between the picture and the night sights would be the inserts. The difference between the Springfield sights and the Trijicon is the shape of the actual sights."

That's because it's not worth seeing. A friend sent his XD off to Springfield to have these sights installed and we were not impressed. When compared side-by-side with some TruGlo sights the Springfield ones fell short. They were hard to see.

I love my TruGlo TFO's. They are the best sights I've been able to find.

Cheers,

Jason

What about the Advantage Tactical sight's. Are they avaiable for The XD 45's yet? Are they worth it? I would like to change my XD45ACP Tactical to something I can see better. Any suggestions?

That looks a lot like the Optic sight Dawson has listed on page 5 of their catalog, $84.95 for a rear & $39.00 for the front. Shipping was $8.50 and I had them in 3 days. Came with tools to drive the old sights out & instructions. Since real men don't read instructions & their have been posts about how hard they are to get out, I was happy to give the gunsmith $30.00 to change them.

Might ask about the front sight height. Dawson has the factory front sight height listed @ .160 vs .205 for their rear & optic front. The is also a difference in wigth between a partridge & ramped sight.

Is it just me or is it shinning on both sides of the sights. This would say "here I am shoot me now!"
