Looking for IWB and WB Holster for 45 ACP Service

Hi Folk's,

Looking for recommendations for an IWB & WB Holsters for the XD 45 ACP Service (4") Model. I'm a 1911 guy, so I like the "Leather" options more than the "Kydex/Plastic" feel one.

What is everyone using, can you post pic's and cost (where to purchase). I typically buy a holster with the Belt, the whole system thing.

I have not seen a XD45 ACP Service model holster, molded with the M6 (Laser) in Leather of "Plastic". I would consider a recommended Custom rig, is forum members have thier product.

Thanks in Advance.

I've been using a crossbreed leather/kydex super-tuck IWB holster for a while now. Very comfortable and completely adjustable to your preference. I had one for my 1911 also, which is why I bought one for my XD45, the leather molds to your body, but it's thinner than an all leather holster due to the kydex mold for the gun.

Not to sound too negative, but good luck trying to find good leather holster without a HUGE wait. The shortest I have been quoed was 3 weeks from Kramer (www.kramerleather.com). I used to be a stout leather guy but have actually enjoyed my Comp-Tac CTAC. Turn around was quick, less than a week and service has been quite good from Comp-Tac. The weakest link in the system is the Kydex clips. Mine just did not want to stay on my belt no matter what. I finally gave up and called Comp-Tac and talked to one of the techs who was nice enough to give me the melt temp for Kydex and some hints on how to tell when it was ready to form. Used a heat gun at work and re-formed the rear clip to fit tighter around my Instructor's belt and now the system seems to work well. I am still entertaining the idea of ordering a sheet of Kydex and making myself some tabs that have belt loops.

Sorry to digress though. You may try Lightning Arms (www.lightningarms.com) as they stock Milt Sparks and you could get lucky. I am very preferential to the Versa Max 2, enough so that I am seriously considering getting on Milt Sparks' (www.miltsparks.com) waiting list. Used one for all my 1911's and LOVE the feel and comfort.

You can also try Lou Alessi, dont have his web page.
Andrews Leather (www.andrewsleather.com)
Matt DelFatti (www.delfatti.com)
Michael Taurisano (www.taurisholsters.com)
Mitch Rosen (www.mitchrosen.com)

Most if not all will have waits. DelFatti is filling orders from November 2004, Sparks has quoted a 18 month lead time, although that was a while ago and they may have caught up.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your responses. I will be looking at all these choices. Money is not the issue for me, but Quality and performance is. I do not mine paying for a custom (One Off) job here.

Last time I had a customer Leather Holster made (A One Off) I paid close to $390 with belt's, etc. SinceLast year Hurracaine Season, "Carlos" shop, never return to biz.

I had a hidden pocket in My belt, IWb for Mag's (Weak side) and WB for my Flashlight. it was all monogrammed...The very best I ever seen.
