XD 45 TACTICAL::: Shells in the mag, fitting really tight??

When I first got the XD I didn't notice this problem, I loaded up the mag and it slide in smoothly and easily into the gun. Now today while shooting I loaded up the mag and it seems really tight when trying to snap it into place. I brought it home and unloaded the mag, slide it just fine, then loaded it back up and it seems real tight going into the pistol, I tired it with both clips. I even went to grab a soda out of the fridge with the pistol in my hand and the mag dropped out, I didn't snap it into place I guess. it takes a lot more pressure to snap it into place with the mag totally full for some reason. What's going on here?

Can somebody put an empty clip in your XD then put a full clip in and see if there is a difference in the slide and the pressure it takes to snap it in.

Is this a problem or am I loosing my noodle?

I've heard of that problem. There was a bad batch of XD's that came out awhile back and unfortunately, there's nothing Springfield can do about it. I'll buy it from you for parts for....$50?

Just kidding. It's the slide pressing down on the rounds, which is compressing the spring and making it a little more difficult to get it in all the way. Perfectly normal.

Thank you , as you can see im a total newbie here.

Ok so its normal for it to slide it a little tighter but the mag release button is reeeeeeally stiff, especially on the right side, I have to put alot more pressure on the right mag release button then I do in the left. Does that sound right?

Just like we used to do with 45's in the military.....insert the mag and rammer home! You can also slap the side of the mag twice on your helmut before you insert it. Uh, don't forget to WEAR a helmut.

Juss kiddin, my XDs do the same thing. Things will loosen up as you break it in. Congrats and enjoy your new XD.

Alright well I found out why it was sliding in easyier with the mag full in the begining, I had the slide cocked back when I was putting in the full magazine as apose to yesterday I was putting the mag in with the slide closed. Ok got that off my mind Im such a dork man I swear....

Went shooting today, I seem to be getting comfortable with the gun and figuring out the sights. I got some damn good shots on the target at 55 ft. but that was with a rest on top of my car. But still not bad at all.

I notice that when I put the magazine in with the slide in the back position I hit the release button while holding the slide with my hand I ease the bullet into the chamber slowly, I feel alot of roughness, its not smooth at all, it feels like its catching a bit. Is this normal as well?

Last question on this topic I swear

Send a message via MSN to jednp Send a message via Yahoo to jednp
if you notice it being hard to eject the mag when it's full, press up on the bottom of the mag when you press the release button. Makes it come out easier.
