XD .45 5" vs glock 26 compact????????
So a buddy of mine is totally doggin on my XD 5" sayin his glock 26 compact will be waaay more acurate. He wants to put $100 on it, he also has the KKM precision barrel in it.
What do you think about this?

It's not really the guns, it's how well the individual handles it
I had a G26, fine gun, pretty accurate too up to 10yrds or so. Both guns are capable of shooting large single hole groups at that distance (the .45 would be a much larger single hole!). But I think the XD45 Tac, would win in anything over that. So I guess it just depends on what distance you shoot at

That's exactly what I told him, I said let me break it in and get used to it then ill take him up on the bet. He just is so dead set that since he put that KKm barrel in it that it made it soooo much more accurate. He has had a Glock 17 L , XD 9 ,XD 40. and a whole a bunch more I cant even think to list but he's saying his G26 compact he has now is the most accurate out of all the guns he's had.
So you think we should set back at around 10 to 15 yards to compete? I really wanna show this moe foe what this foe five can do

Yeh, it might be a close call at 10yds, just depends on how good he is with the 9mm and you are with the .45! You should have a good idea, if you've ever watched him shoot the G26. Give yourself some time and say 800-1000rnds with the XD45, since it's fairly new to you and he's apparently had lots of practice. But I'd have to say you'd have the edge at 15yds, him at 10yds. Split the diff and say 12yds
I have shooting challenges with a friend of mine from time to time. He shoots his HS2000 9mm and I shoot whatever I'm using that day, a PCR (9mm), or DW 1911. Heck I even beat him with me shooting his gun.... that was sweet

FWIW, I think you may have more of an advantage than you think. The longer sight radius will be very beneficial. I carry a G26 and it is accurate but I know I shoot the longer barreled pistols better. YMMV.
Also, it is amazing how a simple wager can make someone's accuracy go to S--T. Does your friend get uptight when things get competitive? You may be able to win before you ever fire a shot depending on how uptight he gets (I know this is evil but some people can psych themselves out over the smallest things). Good Luck. Wayne |

I'm betting this contest is going to revolve around the skill of the shooters more than the accuracy of the pistols. I carry a G26 with a trigger that pulls just over 3#. Hopefully, you're not misled by the misinformation that the G26's accuracy is limited to 10 yds. or so. I routinely shoot mine @ 100 yds., with excellent results.

I didn't mean to imply that the G26 is "only" accurate up to 10yds, just that the longer sight radius of the tactical would be an advantage at longer distances and most likely shoot tighter groups. I haven't seen too many people who could shoot single hole groups in a target at 15-20yds with a subcompact, no matter what the manufacturer or caliber.

I think my buddy buys more guns then he puts shells through them, you wouldnt beleive how many he goes through, sometimes not even shooting them or keeping them for more then a day or two. Everytime I see him he has a new one. I think he charges them with his credit card then sells it back to the store for a little less and gets a credit for that store. BI-polar? I dont know.
