It was such a beautiful day today I left work early and went to the range to fire a few rounds. When I got down to the pistol area there were 2 guys already there and both shooting quick draw and rapid fire with Glocks and betting over who was treating who for something to eat and a cold beer. They finished and walked back to the benches to do a reload and talk some smack about the each others shooting. I was getting set up and loading my mags when one guy asked what I was shooting. I told him the XD 45. They both wanted to see and hold it. They both had a big smile when they held it. When holding the pistol the first thing they said was they couldn't believe how small it was for a 13 round 45 pistol. Then one of the guys asked if he could shoot it. Of course I said yes... He said he just wanted to shoot a few rounds. HA-HA-HA. A few mags later and some good groups on the target and he was mighty impressed. The other guy didn't want to shoot it- he probably figured if he shot it then he wouldn't still think as highly of his Glock ! Both guys were experienced shooters and competed in the ranges IPDA match every month. Just another person highly impressed with the XD- I think he will be a future owner- After the oooowing and awwwwing he loved the way it performed.. And by the way I had a great time with it today also..

I bought my .45acp XD this last weekend, and i still have not shot with it yet.

But this week end its on for sunday. I have been waiting all week to shoot, its killing me inside. I've read everyones post about there range time with this firearm and I'm all gitty inside...... Great story about the glock guys,,,by the way were they shooting glock 21's,,,it would be a great comparison..

I am the only one shooting an XD 45 at my IDPA matches but people are starting to notice and ask what I am shooting.

I have the service model and yes they were shooting the glock 21. They remarked about how big the 21 was and they really didn't care to try and conceal it.. I also have owned the 21- it's a great pistol and it's performance is such that it can't even be questioned. But I do like the XD better.

I was lookin at a G30 at a gun counter at a local ranger and I was chit chatting with the retail manager. I told him I was lookin for a subcompact 45ACP since I have an XD Tac. The retail manager was like, I havent seen the 5in. So, I wipped it out and handed it over to him...ive never seen someone smile so big. He was so impressed by how it felt he wanted to know where I got it and if they had more.
