Well I was referred over here from a fellow member on Shotgunworld forum, I've been browsing around the past couple days and finally registered here today. This forum seems very informative and I like like how its exclusive on the exact pistol im getting

so im sure ill be gathering a lot of tips and tricks on here

I have my 5" tactical ordered and it should be here in a day or two. I'm pretty excited

I have been hearing nothing but good about it.

So here I am

welcome to XDT... i haven't been here much longer than you but i've learned a lot about my new XD...

not to start a big row, but i've finished off my third box of Wolf ammo in my new XD and after a cleaning, which wasn't as bad as some would have you believe, i've found Wolf to be 8.75 a box from the gun shop, accurate for practice, and 0% errors ie. FTF...

So im picking it up on the 6th (Thursday) Is there anything I need to check over on it before I take it home? I've heard some sights are off or something on some of them? Is there anything else I should look for? This is going to be my first pistol so im not too experienced.

Since it's your first pistol, have someone at the store show you how to take-down the XD for cleaning, so you'll feel more comfortable with it. Then give it a good cleaning when you get home, grab some WWB ammo and go for it

Start off shooting at say 6-7yds, just line the 3 dots up and you'll know pretty quick if the sights are dead-on (as most of them are) or slightly off left/right. As you feel more comfortable, and you're grouping gets tighter, move the target back to 8yds, etc. You've made a great first pick!

I called Walmart just now and here's what the listed to me.

Remington UMC 200 rounds $52.98

Remington jacketed hollow points 100 rounds $27.68

Winchester WWB 100 rounds $20.98

Winchester hollow point 50 rounds $19.47

CCI Blazer 50 rounds $9.98

Are these the prices and selection you have there? And the WWB's are what I need to go with out of the whole walmart selection right? Are all the others crap?

I have a Walmart gift certificate so thats why im going to buy there.

Winchester hollow point 50 rounds $19.47 If this is the Personal Protection marked Ammo. thats a really good price.
