Fed Up with Ruger P-90, Bought new XD
After putting roughtly 500 rounds through my ruger P-90 I was still having failure to feed issues. I called ruger and they told me to "tap my magazine against my leg or bench before shooting." I tried that and put another 200 rounds through it with the same issues occuring.
Being the rational guy that I am I took it to the gun shop and traded it in on an XD .45 Service. In the Past I've shot quite a few XD's but, not to sound like everybody else on this board, I am a .45 fan and the new XD is more accurate than I am It is true it will eat anything you stuff into it. At 25yds a 2in group is very easy to maintain. After 300rds I am sold and will probably be buying an xd-9 sub-compact in the near future as my CCW. THANK YOU SPRINGFIELD ARMORY!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

If it was indeed a mag spring problem.... Which is highly possible, a respectible company would have offered up a new spring at a minimum. In my personal opinion if you purchase a new firearm it should function flawlessly. And if it doesn't, the company should offer a great deal of tech support. Or word of mouth will spread. Over time the company will lose it's reputation.

Iv'e owned the Ruger P90 45. It's a good pistol for the price you pay. Tactically speaking it is not a peformer with the XD, Glock, Sig. I don't blame you for switching to the XD.As for all of us on this site- we expect more from a pistol then what you can get from the Ruger. Which is why we all own an XD. It's like comparing a hammer with a pneumatic nail gun. Both work- but one sure out performs the other ! And I don't think I need to point out which gun is the hammer. Good choice on your pick !

Great choice
The XD-45 .45 Service is just the right handgun for my carry needs. Also it shoots without any problems even the flat nosed Corbon +p 185 JHP Ammo. I had so many failures to feed in my 4" 1911.
