moving up from 40 SC... ghost ring sights?
thanks to a gift from my son, i'm movin on up from a .40 XD SC to the most awaited .45... i had a nice set of home-installed trij sights in ghost ring style on the .40 and was wondering,
does anyone have experience in locating the same style sights for the .45? will the .40 sights fit the .45 slide? and was it a do it yourself install vs. sending the slide to a worthy pistolsmith? can't wait to file my first field report on the new .45 |

Seeing as how all the sights sold at pistol gear.com for the XD line for pistols only have 1 size, My guess is, yes, the sights will fit both guns and the sight transition shouldn't be horrible if you know what you are doing.

When you get your sights changed out at a gunsmith, do you need to bring them the whole gun or just the slide?
I know they only go on the slide, but I'm not sure how they do the sighting in procedure. |

Just the slide will do.

It's best to send your whole gun, because no two slides ar the same. That said, to save you on shipping costs, it would be best to speak with Rich to get his thoughts on it.
