No range report BUT...
I did pick up my XD45 Tactical today... after waiting my 8 days (7 normally + 1 extra for President's day.
I love how you have to wait 8 days for the pirivilege of doing what the second amendment says you should be able to do anyway- but THAT'S another story!! Anyway... got it home, cleaned up, installed TFO's (A BEARCAT of an installation, btw) and my new Surefire X200B. Now I'm waiting on a couple of more magazines from SA. (They said about 2-3 weeks.) So... can't wait to get it out to the range, but it's now the *OFFICIAL NIGHTSTAND* gun. Can't beat that brilliant white x200b light ahead of 14 rounds of 230g HydraShok!! (And of course 13 more in the spare. If I can't end a confrontation with 27 rounds of 230g HydraShok I probalby should have just used it as a club and beat on the guy's head, huh?) Now if Lasermax would just come out with the laser for it! To the range tomorrow, with any cooperation from my schedule! ![]() ![]()

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. I just got back from the range (4" XD45ACP), I'm up to 300rnds now, including 3 different types of JHP (Win RA45T, standard Win JHP, and GA Gold Dot, all 230gr). Zero problems, just smooth shooting.

Pretty much the same here in SC. Plus if you have a valid concealed weapon permit you don't even have to wait for the phone call. Also there are little or no limits on what you can buy here AR15, MAK90 etc. If it is legal on the federal level it is legal here. LDC

Not ONLY do I have a valid CCW permit...
... but this is the third gun I've bought in the past 6 weeks. Help me follow the logic in the state's thinking here:
1.- He cleared his background check, fingerprints and federal records two weeks ago and picked up a gun. 2.- He cleared his background check, fingerprints and federal records last week and picked up a gun. 3.- Can't be TOO CAREFUL THOUGH!! Better make him wait a week. What if he's been convicted of a few felonies since last week- or worse still- what if he intends to use this gun in a crime of passion and he really doesn't care to use either of the OTHER TWO GUNS he's bought in the last month! DOH! Beauracracy at it's most RETARDED!! ARGH! Oh well.... it's a cool gun anyway!!

You're using a gun you've never fired before as your first line of defense?
I mean, yeah, we both know good and well that it's gonna work just fine when you do get it out to the range, but you don't know...

I have had my background checked 6 times that I can think of since November '05. I started a new job in November, bought a gun in December, got my CCW in January, bought two more guns in January, and one more gun in February. I can fill out the whole background check form without even reading the blanks I have done it so many times lately

Good point. No.... actually it's going to the range today or tomorrow. The G27 with 9+1 .40 Gold Dots (my CCW gun) was the "OFFICIAL" bed side gun last night... and will be until I put 200-300 rounds downrange in the next day or two!! But FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING the XD Tactical w/ X200B will soon become the OFFICIAL bedside weapon. Thanks for keeping me on my toes!
