Replacement Recoil Spring/Guide for XD45

Any idea when our favorite guy will have the full-length guide rod/spring retrofit for the 4" XD45 ready?

RM, please forgive an ignorant question. What is the reason(s) for a DGR on the XD-45ACP? Are you getting it for the increased life/reliabilty or to change the recoil? Other reasons? All of the above? Elaborate if you don't mind for us beginners who are eager to learn. Thanks!

The main reasons for the solid guide rod are reliability and flexibility of spring weights. The compound guide rods used in the service and subcompact XDs are known to break after thousands of rounds, whereas the solid guide rod obviously wouldn't have this problem. You can also use widely available and cheap 1911 springs with the guide rod to customize your recoil spring.
