can anybody help???? trigger problem.
i am having trouble with the trigger safety sticking. it doesnt seem to have enough room between the split trigger to move easily. it will usually stick in the groove and not want to come out to reset. how can i fix this. i have tried cleaning and lubrication without any luck. any help would be great.

You might be able to take the trigger assembly apart and file something down, but you might screw something up in the process. I would contact springfield about the problem.

As .45shooter said, contact Springfield before doing anything. Don't put your lifetime warranty on the line for a "quick fix" as the thru-pin is dimpled on each side of the trigger and any attempt to knock the pin out and re-dimple it will be noticeable by the factory and could void your warranty in certain areas.
If you were to try to punch out the thru-pin, you would have to support the trigger so the punching out of the thru-pin would not put unwanted pressure on the contact and pivot points of the trigger assembly and/or frame. As a machinist with over 28 years of experience in production and job-shops and as a C.N.C. programmer, I highly suggest you bite the bullet and give up the lost time and let Springfield or a competent gunsmith that is recommended by Springfield take care of the problem. Sorry you have a problem. I have (2) of the .45 ACP Service XD's and have nothing but realistic praise for them.
