Just as the Death rattle post indicates there is a rattle. A rattle that occurs more than not with the XD .45 mags.
Through experience and/or research you will find that most mags do rattle at times but are resolved with the simple slam back method to seat the rounds...not with these... the rattle comes back with movement.
Some may not care about the rattle and accept it as a simple annoyance until a time when you may have to be Swift , Silent and Deadly which I hope never occurs for you.
I know with 12 rds the spare mag doesn't rattle but there still a flaw.
It's obvious the rounds are not seating Why?? Is the spring a few pounds too weak?
At any rate this needs to addressed this with Springfield Armory ASAP

That's exactly what I was thinking. Just a mild slam on your palm releases enough pressure to almost make the 1st round pop out. Try it.

I keep both of my mags loaded to capacity and neither of them rattles. On the other hand, the mags for a USPf .45 that I used to have rattled all the time.

After reading "death rattle" I took a look at my mags. Yup they rattled. Tried the palm slam technique to set the rounds which worked for me. Checked both my mags a day after carrying, no rattle.

I also notice in my case, when the mag is in the weapon there is enough pressure on the top round in the mag that keeps any rattle from occuring. Also noticed that when my spare mag is in the mag holder, I have two, a leather and the double one the came with the XD, there was enough pressure on the top round to eliminate any rattle.

In my case the only real possibility of this so called "death rattle" appearing in a tactical situation is when I empty my first mag, drop it from the magwell, pull the second mag from its holder. Then does it really matter?

From my experience and perspective this whole "death rattle" thing is not practical, but it gives us somehing to talk about in these rooms.

Mine rattle too. A good slap usually fixes it.
