ANYONE HAD LUCK WITH LSWCs IN XD45?
My XD45 behaves well with hardball and JHPs, but WILL NOT function with lead semi-wadcutters (200-grain H&G No.68 configuration. 1.245" OAL). The round works well in all 1911A1 guns (I've used it in 10 different models from Officer models to Kimbers, 3-1/2" to 5" barrels).
I can fire 1-2 rounds from my XD before it FTE/FTFs. Anyone been sucessful at using these rounds? BTW, the power factor of these rounds is about 175... could it be that it's not so much the shape of the bullet but the fact that it's not a 180+ power-factor round like military ball or a full-house 230-grain JHP? I noticed that nobody has an after-market full-length guide rod/spring kit out yet, which would allow me to tune gun with different recoil spring weights. |

I had some difficulty with the Star SWC. The XD did not like them at all. I did try some 185 that are the H&G 130. The shorter button nose style. I had them loaded with 3.9gr of VV310 which chronoed about 770 fps. They feed and functioned just fine but werent as accurate as I would have hoped.
