Another vote for the XD45
I've been reading alot about these lately, and was planning to hold out for a tactical model (wanted the 5" slide so I can tell myself it's a 1911!). But last week I found a great deal on a LNIB used service model for $439. Doesn't even look like it's been fired. And after looking at it all week, I've decided to get a tactical model in another caliber later, but this one will be a "keeper" as a new ccw pistol. Never liked the Glock 21, it just feels too "awkward" for my hands, which have the start of carpal syndrome. But this XD feels much, much better, and still holds 13 rounds. I don't know had Springfield did it, but between this and Smiths new M7P pistols, well, as much as I hate to say it, Glock better watch out. Looks like they picked the wrong time for the great "here comes an exciting new product" fiasco, didn't they? Good luck to all.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. I agree on the G21, felt like a brick to hold , but fun to shoot, and the XD45 fits me to a tea
Shoot well.
