XD 45 Compact Owners
All you Xd 45 Compact Owners, this might be a dumb question but does your hand ever get pinched from the gap in between the handgrip and the mag adapters? Also does the grip feel pretty solid or is it kinda loose and unstable feeling with a mag in? One more, for those of you who had a 45 service grip-chopped and converted, any pros, cons to having that done does work just as good with mags as a compact? I have a 45 service and was considering getting a grip chop. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just got my XD45c last Friday. So far I have only run three mags through the 13 rd mag. No pinching; fits pretty tight. I don't like the feel of the gun with the long mag in it and will probably only use it once in a blue moon. Hopefully if ever needed 11 rds of Gold Dot 230 gr HP will get me out of harm's way.

Two years, two XD-45Compacts, 7 different mag, ~8k rounds through them and I can remember getting pinched once.

I was one of the first XD45 owners. I bought a Service as soon as they were available...with every intention of doing a grip chop. Had I know SA would actually produce a Compact (intead of a Sub-Compact) I would have waited. I did not purchase any of the sleeves for my 13 round mags after doing the grip chop. The shorter grip fits my hand fine (it encourages a tight, high grip) and the sleeves are not needed. Don't bother buying the sleeves, it is a waste of money, IMHO. Get the grip chopped and enjoy.

My XD45C has never offered any problems what so ever of any kind. I have never been pinched by the full size magazine and almost never use it except for the range, on the night stand or when traveling I keep it in the center consol and my XD40SC holstered on my right side. I don't think you would regret a grip chop, if you can afford it have a smith do it for you that has done it before. Some folks on here have done their own with good results.

A buddy and I did the grip chop on my xd45 service and it turned out great. It's not as hard as you might think. Just measure twice, cut once and go slow. The benefit of comfort and concealability far outways the extra three rounds.
