Just pulled the trigger on my master plan!! - XDTalk Forums

So a few weeks ago I tried to get a .45 Tactical, but things fell through and I ended up with a .45 Service. I love the gun, but instantly realized I made a mistake! I should have gotten the compact 4" since I would inevitably be getting the tactical in the future. I realized that if I ordered a .45 Tactical compact I could swap the slides and have a compact 4" for carry and a full sized tactical with an Insight m3x to sit on my bedside table.

I ordered the Compact Tactical today and should have it in my hands Wednesday. I will post the pics after the swap and after the M3X is added, it will be a mean gun! I also went with the night sights, I really like them on the 9sc.

When you say compact tactical are you talking about the 5in compact?

Ohhhhhh Yeah....The Comp Tac is the SUGAR....Wouldn't trade mine for the world...Just applied at a PD, and they are using Glock 21's with the option of Approved others, and unfortunately the XD isn't on it

....Don't know what I'm going to do...I just shoot Glocks like poo and the 21 is the worst of the bunch for me because its SOOOOO big....I won't carry a 40 for anything, let alone LE, so it has to be a .45....Looks like back to 1911's...Sigh

I made the same mistake not getting an XD45 compact, but don't you have to get a grip chop to use compact mags in a service or tactical that uses standard mags normally?

To recap.... I bought an XD45 Tactical compact and swapped the frame with a XD45 Service to get this setup and fix a mistake in purchasing a 4" service. Now I have the Compact 4" for winter carry, a Tactical for home defense, and a 9sc for summer carry.

I'm happy!! Love them XD's!
