I bought the Service 4" and then the Tactical with a compact grip. I used the frame of the new gun(compact) with the 4" slide for a compact 4" and used the service frame with the 5" slide for the full sized Tactical I originally wanted. Now I have two weapons that serve a different purpose, and that I am very happy with. No more buyers remorse.

Looks like this mistake got me another gun. Somehow I even convinced the wife it was a good plan.

You claim HK makes the best combat 45 in the world yet you don't own one. If you don't own one how can you make this claim? Also I owned a USP .45 compact. Really really nice, but also really expensive. In my opinion I did not like it any more than the XD's I currently own. I actually like some of the features the XD has over the H&K I owned. Primarily the striker setup (which is proving to be better suited for "combat"). If the HK is the best "combat .45" why do so agencies carry them?

Don't get me wrong they are great guns, but don't just spout off about them on an Springfield forum with nonsense. In fact you could make a better argument for the 1911, plus you own one so you could actually speak from experience.

Why again are you on an XD forum specifically the .45 XD room talking about H&K .45s???

I have shot the H&K .45's. They are nice. However I prefer my XD .45 Tactical. It is the best feeling .45 I have ever owned or shot. That includes H&K, Ruger, Glock, Sig. That's just me. You may prefer a different brand.
