Yes I have shot many hst's, imho they are the best I've come across in a long time. I just like the looks of that really nice mushroom and it retains all of it's weigh too, bar it doesn't it bone. Don't take my word or anybody else's try them all and make up your on mind.

I've shot about 80 rnds of HST's. They fed but the only reason I used them is there wasn't anything else to use at the time. XD45C-Tac. NOT my 1st choice in ammo, but for what its worth mine did fine on them. I just hate that round.

Mine feeds them just fine. I too was wondering why you "hate that round" Renshai. In my opinion, HSTs are some of the best out there for expansion and retention of mass. What is not to like about them...much less hate?
ETA: I use them in my XDM .40 as well with zero issues.

I'm just getting back into handguns and purchased an XDm40 for myself. A buddy doing the same thing purchased a CZ75B in 9mm. Both of us have had feed issues every time we've gone shooting...all factory ammo. The Federal I've shot has been the best but it FTF's too.
Don't recall ever having an issue with my BHP's except they bit me every time. Nor with my Steyr GB except it was the dirtiest pistol after firing I ever had. (beautiful gun and wish I'd kept it). Never had a problem with my Browning 22 auto nor any of my Smith's, Ruger's or Virginia Dragoons firing that I recall. I expect an automatic handgun to have feeding issues...any of them. And I keep my guns in clean, like new, condition as much as possible. Face it, more moving parts means more opportunities to fail. Even so, if I were going to depend on a handgun in dusty conditions I'd rather carry an automatic. The few revolvers I've seen lock up were locked up tight. Regards, TB |
