1500 rounds and she still looks new (pic)

1500 rounds and the new melonite is holding up rather well. It looks better than my custom 40 with only 1000 rounds. The 45 is my daily carry gun, and the 40 has never seen a holster, yet the 40 looked so worn it is already with ajames getting a tan duracoat.

Looks great GP. What did you use to color in the brand? The gold is sharp!

I like the gold. I wouldn't have thought so without seeing it, but it looks great.

Peace,
D.

VERY Nice gold touch! Im not a gold fan but damn that looks sharp. I might have to give mine that custom look too. But might go with silver if they make that color. I have a local "Michaels" Crafts store. Do you have a picture of the tool u used?

It looks like a big gold crayon. It is too easy to use. Degrease, then rub over engravings, wipe off excess with a tissue or soft cloth. Re-oil treated areas and you are done. It can be removed with a toothbrush and mineral spirits. I have seen white china markers used and it looked nice, but I went to every arts and craft store within 30 miles and couldnt find a white marker, but I found the Gold stick when I went to get some Hoppe's No. 9, it was with the gun cleaning items in a local gun shop. It looks so good, I am thinking of having it done with real gold.
