Noob XD owner range report
Just picked up my first XD today! A shiny new 45ACP. This gun is amazing! In a package not much bigger than my Sig 229 I get 1 more round and in .45 ACP to boot. I put 200 rounds of Federal (I think) through it before even taking it home and doing the customary clean and lube on it. Its a shooter! I'm no great marksman but I was tearing ragged holes in the target at 7yds. I had one FTF. One round nosedived coming out of the magazine about half way through one of the magazines. Probably my fault as I think I limp-wristed that shot. I'm leaving town tomorrow but I'm looking forward to logging some more range time when I get back home in a few weeks. After taking it home and while I was cleaning it I noticed that this gun is substantial and very well built. It puts my old Glock 32 to shame. I couldn't be happier with my new purchase.

Check your magazines making sure they are clean. They do coat the springs with grease. Also make sure the magazine follower is functioning smoothly and not sticking. Had to buff mine out a bit on one of them.
Just thought I would mention that since you said you had a fail to feed. Limp wristing normally will cause a fail to eject. With the nose of the round pointing down it sounds like your follower was hung up a bit. Hope ya like the pistol....just getting mine broken in at 350 rounds. |

I shot through most of the remainder of the box of Remingtons and a box of CCI Blazers without a single problem. That makes about 550 rounds now with 1 FTF.
