I with you Virus.exe, their quality controll should catch this kind of stuff, that said, lesson is learned. I will not receive another handgun without a very good inspection.

Would SA fix something like this. Other than this problem the weapon is very accurate and I like it.
If you think the finish looks bad then you NEED to let SA know about it. How are things going to improve if they don't get feedback from the people that purchase their product?

You guys that are saying $500 is "firearm peanuts" or whatever need to wake up! NOT EVERYONE has tons o' cash to throw around on everything. To SOME $500 is a TON of money.
And as a basis of comparison I have a $99 Hi-Point that has a more uniform finish than virus.exe's SA...that is not cool.

He paid for new and he deserves it. If he recieved the pistol for $399 because of it's flaws even though only cosmetic it would be fine. He paid for new so he should get new.
agreed. 500 clams is good chunk of change to me as well. some people have just had plenty of cash so long thay have forgot its value

I wouldn't use the word "bling" in a sentence no matter what other words were in the sentence. Is bling actually a word or some form of ebonics?

Seriously though, the man spent $500. I bet not to many here light their cigars with $100 bills.

If you make $40. an hour, that's 2 days work once uncle suger gets his cut.
i also agree with you. anyone who says the word bling should have to pay me a 1.00$. ...........o crap now i owe my self a 1.00$....o well ill have to borrow the mony from my mom LOL

XD .45 in less than perfect condition

Wildcard, I basically say the same thing to my wife and 2 sons every time they tell me "It's just a dollar". When they say this I tell them " Then give me a dollar". For some reason, none of them have given me a dollar yet and I've been married 25 years. One thing I have figured out is that none of us posting are the guy that owns Oracle(I think it's a software company). A report I saw on him said he is worth 13 BILLION dollars and this is where things started to get fuzzy(from my lack of oxygen). I believe they said he spends $55,000.00 a day to "maintain his lifestyle". When his financial advisor told him he needed to go on a budget, so he went out and bought $200,000,000.00 (yes, they said 200 million) in real estate. Talk about forgetting the value of a dollar. However, this has gotten away from the original thread. Virus.exe, keep us posted on how things are going and what the outcome is. If you are still not satisfied, let them know and let us know. Maybe if enough of us started emailing them and voicing dissatisfaction with their customer service concerning your issue, they would change their mind. Then again, it might not make a difference. You never know. If I were a betting man (and I'm not), I would bet Springfield is going to do all they can to take care of your problem to your satisfaction. I hope they come through for you.

is it just me, or am I the only one recalling how so many people on here were complaining how poor the old finishes of the XD's are, and hated every flaw about them.. and how you'd swear rust problems made the pistol flawed greatly? Now that there's a new finish on the .45's that's suppose to be tons better, I for one would expect the gun to be in perfect condition when I receive it new as long as it hadn't been handled in a store. Just because it's a newer finish, and will wear better, and eventually get scuffed up doesn't mean someone now should just accept flaws, when before the flaws would be the end of the world if it were the old finish.
