I with you Virus.exe, their quality controll should catch this kind of stuff, that said, lesson is learned. I will not receive another handgun without a very good inspection.

Would SA fix something like this. Other than this problem the weapon is very accurate and I like it.
If you think the finish looks bad then you NEED to let SA know about it. How are things going to improve if they don't get feedback from the people that purchase their product?

You guys that are saying $500 is "firearm peanuts" or whatever need to wake up! NOT EVERYONE has tons o' cash to throw around on everything. To SOME $500 is a TON of money.
And as a basis of comparison I have a $99 Hi-Point that has a more uniform finish than virus.exe's SA...that is not cool.

He paid for new and he deserves it. If he recieved the pistol for $399 because of it's flaws even though only cosmetic it would be fine. He paid for new so he should get new.

No matter what the price for a new product, it should not be done half-a**. Price does not make up for mistakes in a new product. Cheaper materials maybe but is not an excuse for quality control. There is a difference.

I said that. $500 is no laughing matter to me either. However, I wouldn't use the word "bling", "$500", and "gun" in the same sentence. Maybe I'm just not on the same sheet of music as you guys. Guns are tools, they are going to get banged up. Sure, they should look good out of the box, but I really AM squinting at those pictures to see what is the big deal. I guess I'm just not as prissy about my stuff. Example, on my XD, the finish on the exposed portion of the barrel (from the top of the slide) looked a bit worn through when I bought it. Probably from the test rounds that were fired. I didn't get upset, because I knew within 10 rounds it was going to look like that, anyway.

The discoloration on the slide SA should know about. Try emailing them and send those pictures, maybe they'll send you some magazines or something.

I should restate that. What I meant to say is that "comparatively speaking", it is firearm peanuts-keyword being firearm. BTW, I don't have tons of cash to through around on everything either. I work 12 hour shifts in at an open pit coal mine in central Texas. When I say 12 hour shifts, I mean 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. We work a 12 hour swing shift 24/7/365 and get to work both days and nights, holidays weekends, etc.. Cold, rain, heat, etc. no matter what, we're out there in it. I don't have what some refer to as a "cushy" inside job, no offense intended to anyone. By the way, a job is a job no matter where you are. I drive a 1993 P.O.S. Ford Thunderbird, go out to eat maybe once a month, and maybe twice a year, go to the early bird special at the movies (this is usually the 10:30 a.m. show that costs $4.50 a head). I pinch pennies in alot of areas so I can spend a little more in others. I'm not looking for sympathy, just trying to let you know that I am wide awake and that $500.00 is a ton of money to me also. I work hard to make a living, as I am sure we all do. Point being, you should get what you paid for, no matter if it is a Hi-Point, Les Baer, Wilson Combat, or whatever. Just because your Hi-Point cost $100.00 doesn't mean you think it should be of poor quality, fall to pieces, or be considered disposable. I know I wouldn't and I had considered buying one, but didn't because I already have a 25 year old B.H.P. in 9mm. There was never any intention to offend anyone with my previous post. Sorry if you took it personally.

No offense taken whatsoever. I wasnt particularly pointing you out...more so speaking in general than anything.
I'm sorry if you felt I was taking jabs at you.

I think that virus.exe should be happy with his purchase, that's all. I

I wouldn't use the word "bling" in a sentence no matter what other words were in the sentence. Is bling actually a word or some form of ebonics?

Seriously though, the man spent $500. I bet not to many here light their cigars with $100 bills.

If you make $40. an hour, that's 2 days work once uncle suger gets his cut.

Mine was similar - especially the finish. They are sending me a new pistol. Hopefully something better than what you got from them...

$40.00 an hour Seriously though, I don't make anywhere near that, but for our area I make a good living due to a very low tax base and cost of living index. l always think about the sign posted where I work reminding me that I am entitled to $5.15 an hour and I also think about those who are making it on alot less than I am. It sure helps put things in perspective. One thing we all agree on-you should get what you expect and pay for. If it's not right, then do like Roxer. Contact the manufacturer and give them a chance to make it right. Sales in the firearms business has alot to do with word of mouth reputation and these forums have helped make alot of manufacturers more accountable. I have an XD .45 ACP Bi-tone 5" due in any day now. Hope I have no problems.
