A plastic gun isn't supposed to be pretty. None of that should effect functioning.

That was cool of Springfield to offer a 45ACP as a replacement.
Hope they work it out for ya.

I would be bothered by this as well. If my gun ends up looking like crap because of me then great!!! If it comes looking like crap out of the box I would have a problem with that.

They WILL make it right...and...I know someone is going to bash me for this, but ask them for a free magazine for YOUR troubles and time. I BET they will do that too.

$500 is firearm peanuts. That's part of what makes these guns so nice. Ask Chrome how much he paid for his Ed Brown, then you'll have an idea of bling.

Honestly, I don't see the big deal in the pictures. If you would have posted those pics without the arrows and the narrative describing what was wrong, I would have stared at it for a long, long time.

Geez man, don't ever shoot the thing, it gets all icky and dirty.

any one recieve a new .45acp in not so good condition?

I just got a new Springfield XD-45 ACP a few weeks ago. I was disappointed when I noticed that the slide on my new handgun had an imperfection. It appears that something dripped on the finish as it was drying. It almost looks like rust marks under the finish.

I with you Virus.exe, their quality controll should catch this kind of stuff, that said, lesson is learned. I will not receive another handgun without a very good inspection.

Would SA fix something like this. Other than this problem the weapon is very accurate and I like it.

I agree with both sides. $500.00 is firearm peanuts. I have over 10 times that much in ammo alone sitting inside my gun room and it isn't even the exotic stuff, just your everyday .45ACP FMJ, 9mm Luger, etc.. On the flip side, I also don't have $500.00 to through away and would expect the gun to be pristine when I buy it. Agreed, the photos are of cosmetic problems and in no way affect the performance of the gun. A couple of months of use and these will seem extremely minor. To carry it just a little farther, It would be like paying full price for a new car that has hail damage or scratches. Though they don't affect the performance of the vehicle, you paid for new, not damaged. JM2cW.
