People own this gun, Distributors are shipping them, dealers are selling them and springfield tells me this.. NOTE

this is my 2nd email to SA. The first one told me that the Tactical will not be out until MAY. Well then i found out people were buying them so i ask SA again to see and i get this response).......

Find a shop that deals with JSC Inc, they have the 45 ACP Tactical in stock at 4 of their locations.

I'm wondering if these few tactical models are not prelims or dealer samples that the dealers are getting in, playing with, and then selling for new? Just a thought.

You should write SA back and ask them how there are shops selling them. That's one way to find out.

2 on the shelf at the Austintown Sports center in Austintown Ohio. He often gets stuff very early, I do not know how, but his number is (330)792-1313. He does internet sales. These ARE the 5" tactical models not the 4" Service. Most of my XD's have come through him and if you look at my posting history most have been when folks were sure I was kidding. Don't know if he knows some one or what but as soon as they ship ANYWHERE, he gets at least a couple.

A great guy to deal with as well. For once a customer friendly gun shop!

I just picked up an XD-45 Tactical that I ordered through Davidson's Friday night. Good price ($502 before taxes, including Davidson's $17 dollar fee) and great service from a nearby gun store in Idaho (they charged only 485). Manicmechanic found out about the availability at Davidson's and tipped us off by posting here. Davidson's had 28 listed when I ordered mine and next day they were all gone. I'll be posting a range report when I get to shoot it this weekend. So far, feels like the other two tactical XD's I've got in 45 GAP and 9 mm.

I know just what you mean. I've posted it elsewhere but I purchased (paid in full) for a 5" Bi-tone XD .45 ACP the 1st week of January. My dealer told me they would be in any day. 2 weeks later, I contacted Springfield and John Moe, the Regional Dealer Rep emailed me and said it would be between April and June before the 5" started shipping. About a week later he emailed and said he had heard "through the grapevine" that they were going to ship alot sooner than had been expected. Yesterday he emailed and said the 5" are just starting to ship now. My question is the same as yours- (1st.)-How is it that these dealers have already had them and sold them if they are just starting to ship? My dealer told me when I paid for mine that they were one of Springfield's "Premier Dealers" and that they would be receiving their allotment 1st. She said that she had ordered them around the last of November but I have received no word from them. (2nd)-Why is it that a "Regional Dealer Rep" has to hear about things through the grapevine? I would think that he would be getting his info straight from Springfield. When I mentioned to him that my dealer had said she would be getting them in any day, he said she had probably gotten her (mis?)information from somebody else who had probably gotten their information from somebody else. I would have thought that with my dealer being a "Premier Dealer" they would have gotten their info from somebody like, Oh, I don't know...How about a "Regional Dealer Rep"? Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to get my XD but apparently I have no choice. I told John that, had I known that it would be that long before the guns shipped, I probably have waited to pay for it. He told me "Don't Blame Your Dealer" and I thought "Well who should I blame?". I realized the one to blame was me for buying and paying for something that wasn't there. At least when it does ship, mine is already paid for. I just hope that it doesn't mysteriously disappear before I can get there to pick it up and I'll have to wait some more. My dealer is 60 miles away, so I don't get by there everyday to see if they have arrived. This is not a gripe and I am not badmouthing either Springfield or my dealer, these are just the facts as they happened. By the way, the price I was quoted for the 5" Bi-tone was $530.00 and the Black was somewhere around $500.00. Anyway, I hope you have better success than I have had so far.
