Thumb hitting magizine release???

Has anyone else had this problem? When firing 3 or 4 round burst, occasionally my thumb will slide down and accidentally hit the magazine release. I have a 45 service, my first hand gun, and I love it! But if I need to use it in a hurry, that could be a problem. What can I do to stop this?

Jeez dude, my magazine release requires two midgets, a sledgehammer and a stick of butter to get it to release a mag! Wish I had your version. But sorry, haven't had the "premature release" problem.

Assuming you are right handed, which thumb hits it?

You definitely need to work on your grip. Also don't shoot faster than you can acquire the target after recoil.

Your thumb shouldn't be wrapped around the frame. And in fact should be on top of your left hand's thumb. If anything it should be your left thumb that is hitting the mag release as that one sits lower.

Whatever the case, the thumbs are not suppose to exhibit any real gripping force, other then a bit of stabilizing force into the palm area. It's all in the remaining 4 fingers, and too that don't really grip all that hard, just firm.

You mag release is either seriously light, or your grip is in much need of improvement.

Google "combat grip", first link, read all of that. Don't feel bad however, we all sucked at one time.

Yeah you must have the magical XD. For me to release a full magazine I have to push up on the bottom of the magazine and then hit the button. If it's empty it will fall out with ease.

Thanks MagicPie. I'll check out the combat grip or the thumb over thumb grip, and see if they help.
