xd 45 acp failure to feed issues

first time out of the box at local idpa match and had 2 FTF on a stage about 25 -30 rounds into match. also a failure to slide lock on last round in mag which i believe has more to do with thumb placement...1911 shooter last 10 years...at range sunday with 2 more FTF...from same mag
back to back.

shot around 250 rounds total...every thing on mags looks fine...
must.......shoot.......more.

If the problem is happening with just one mag you may want to take it apart and clean the grease out of it then use some dry lube on it. You may want to check for any excess mold flashing on the mag follower while you have it out. If any is present just gently trim it of with a razer blade or maybe sand it smooth with some 400+ grit sand paper.

Also I have to ask have you cleaned the heavy oil from the factory out of the guns action? Mine was soaked down pretty good. I didn't fire a single round until I mopped it all out and cleaned it with Break Free CLP

If all that fails try shooting 200 or so more rounds of WWB or other cheap FMJ ammo. It may just need to be loostened up a bit.

If that doesn't help you may want to call S.A. I hear that they will make it right for you. I haven't had to make that call yet *crossing fingers*

Good Luck & Good Shooting,
LDC

'New gun may just need more rounds thru it to smooth out. I imagine that after a few hundred more rounds it should smooth out.
After that if it doesn't the factory trip is always an option, but usually the places to look are feed ramp and then the transition from feed ramp to chamber, then the top top of the chamber.
We like to think that all of the bugs are worked out, but statistics will show that any new release will have a few bugs. Usually they are not the core design, but tolerance issues that just do not show up in small R&D runs.
Hang in there, I have faith (True-Believer here! ).
