Any News on .45 subcompact from the shotshow?

Any progress on info on a subcompact in either the GAP or ACPs?

I just read on the 1911 forum that Springfield has canned the 1911 Micro GAP due yo poor sales & is working on a 9mm Micro instead. No word on an XD 45 SC.

How can you have poor sales on a product that was never released?

I think he might mean poor sales of the .45 GAP ammo, not necessarily the weapon.

Actually, what I read said "lack of demand".

perhaps if the ammo wasn't $23.00 for a box of 50 target rounds then maybe the ammo would be more popular.

According to an email from Springfield, there are no plans for a .45 ACP compact.

You can get too small... the ACP from less than a 4 inch bbl is kinda silly IMO.

If they do anything, leave the top as is w the 4 in bbl, and just chop the grip by 2-4 rounds (a half inch to an inch).

That would work for me.

I agree with you BrokenArrow. Has anyone else seen the article in the American Handgunner March/April 2006 issue, covering a Double Duty custom from CT Brian? It is one, actually two, sweet setups. They took one slide and matched it to two different frames. One frame is a standard 1911 frame and the other is a shortened handle frame for CC purporses and rounded and beveled quite nicely. It really made me drool!
