Long Time Shooter, First Time Poster.
I have been lurking around here on and off for the last year or so. About the same amount of time that I have owned an XD-9 Service model. From the first day I handled an XD (HS2000 at the time) I knew it was the poly gun for me. I always liked the durability of the Glocks. I just couldn't deal with the ergonomics. Then along came XD. Oh wonderful day!
In the year that I have had my 9mm I think I have fed it about 2,000 rounds of assorted FMJ ammo, mostly WWB and a small assortment of popular self defense HP's. I haven't had a single hitch to date and I have let the gun get pretty gunked up between cleanings. I have been very pleased with the performance. Then to my excitement early Dec'05 I learned of the XD 45ACP. I have always been a fan of the 45 acp round for self defense. I have become a big fan of the HS2000/XD over the last few years. So the combo is basically a match made in heaven for me. Now that the stars have aligned: Gun released to market, gun dealer gets one in stock, Fed tax refund I ran a fast 50 rounds through it earlier today after I picked it up. I have to say the gun just feels better overall to me than the 9mm. I am pretty accurate with the XD-9, but out of the box I am even better with the 45 already. I can't wait to put in some major range time with this baby. |

Welcome to the forum! I have the same feelings about the XD-45ACP, I've been waiting for this gun for years. I liked the SA 1911 I HAD, but I like the XD45 even more. I also have a Tac-9 XD which is great, but the I can't wait to see what the Tac-45ACP XD will do
