Chrono results - Updated 2/25/06

I chronographed all the ammo I had on hand. I have more types arriving soon; I’ll post those results as soon as I get my hands on them.

Pistol: XD-45ACP Service, 4” barrel

Thanks, that is really interesting info. It is odd how Winchester, CCI, and Magtech all claim to produce their standard 230 grain ball ammo to the same velocities, but it is obvious here that some are loaded "hotter" than others.

This is the first time I chronod .45ACP. I don’t own a 1911, or I would test these three rounds again to see if the 5” barrel would some how even out the velocities. Various barrel lengths might burn the powders differently? I really don’t know. I do have an HK Match in .45, it has a 6.02in barrel. I think next time I’ll chrono some rounds through it and see what results I get.
Even though all three of those rounds were very accurate out of the XD-45, I found the blazer more so.
