I spoke with a customer service lady at Springfield Armory and she said May.
My bet is probably a little sooner than that. I'm not sure how much sooner.

They are listed as "allocated" on the Davidson's website, so maybe they can be ordered now.

On the BI
Hey, go get the black save the money. Send it to Tripp Research for almost the same money you saved on buying the black XD. This is the only way to go, Tripps finishes are second to none and they look much better than than SF's Bi tone finish, experically if you get all the small external parts done along witht the slide. www.trippresearch.com
It takes them about 10 days or so, well worth it. |

Bi-Tone .45 ACP
I bought and paid for an XD .45 Bi-Tone 5" model in early January (it hasn't arrived yet). My dealer had just received the 1st 4" model and it had sold before it hit the display case. She told me the others would be in any day. After a couple of weeks, she emailed me to say she had some more 4" black in but I told her I would wait. I then contacted Springfield and John Moe of Springfield got back with me. He said that for now all they were shipping was the black 4". This was 2/1/06. He said the O.D. and Bi-Tone 4" would start shipping around the end of Feb. and the 5" would not start being available until between April and June. He has since got back with me and said that he heard through the grapevine that the 5" would start shipping alot sooner than expected, although he couldn't give a specific date. Seeing the 5" on gunbrocker has gotten my hopes up again, so the 4" Bi-Tone may be out there already. However, after seeing stevo's post, I may have to rethink the Bi-Tone. Basically, this is alot of words just to say that apparently even the Dealers and Sales Reps don't even know.
