GOT ONE TODAY - I WAS OVERLY INFLUENCED BY THIS FORUM
I picked up my NIB XD45 earlier today and I must say that my decision to buy it was much influenced by the posters on this forum. Most forums about a pistol (particularly a new pistol) are filled with numerous gripes and complaints; anger and irritation abounds as to what went wrong with the brand new pistol that was just purchased. Not so with those who have posted remarks about their new XD45's. I found that so different and refreshing that I just had to buy one to see what was going on.
Bought mine at Keith's Sporting Goods in Gresham, Oregon with its advertised paraphenalia (holster, mag loader, mag holder) for $469.00. I dealt directly with Keith himself who mentioned that this was the 4th pistol that they had sold today. He then yelled to one of the other workers to "bring more XD's up from the basement" so, they have a number more in stock. He told me that the XD45 was selling particularly well. I purchased two extra mags ($28.00/mag) and, evidently, they were well supplied with them too. Took it home and, as I have a shooting range on my farm, put 200 rounds of 230 FMJ inexpensive stuff through it right away. Nary a problem and seemingly reasonable accuracy although I really did not shoot for accuracy - just reliability. Will shoot for accuracy tomorrow but getting that sandwiched in with the Super Bowl is problematical. So, thanks to you all of you enthusiastic XD posters I bought one. So far, so good - catch you all later.

Glad to hear you are having a great time with it. I guess I need to seriously think about another XD now.
