Grip modification on an XD45acp???
Anyone looked into have a grip modification on your new XD45acp yet? The size is fine but I dont care for the front and backstrap checkering and it is all together a little slick to me. Yes, its my first XD all together. I've never really cared for the rubber slip on grips. I know, Im high maintance
 but have just been giving it some thought. I would like mine to be more ruff and gripping. I know with the slim side walls I would be scared to have it messed with much at all!. Dont get me wrong, I am still VERY happy with the gun but just thought I would check everyones thoughts. Thank guys. Oh, and if anyone has photos of grip modes, can you post em (any XD's)?? I'd like to check em out and here opinions on them.

Hi UCPOPO. I had asked this question in another thread, and I dont think any one knows yet... I emailed Bar-Sto (they do great stippling jobs) and asked them if they could do it on a XD 45 acp... Havent heard anything back yet... he probably wont know until he gets his hands on one and tries it... It would be pretty costly to be the first to try, and find out that it wont work and that they messed up the frame... Hopefully someone will bring forth some info on this soon...
I like you want to get a XD 45acp and have the grip stippled... I dont want rubber grips, or skatetape... I guess Im picky too.

Do a search for "stipple". It will bring up several threads for you to view. Several have had other XDs done.
I don't see why you couldn't do it to the ACP since it should not penetrate through. I'm just chicken enough to not try it myself though! |
