Has anyone compared the recoil of the XD45 to the G30?
I'm looking for a comparison in recoil between the XD45 and the G30. I've shot the G30 in my quest for a 45 and I must say it is probably the softest shooting 45 that I have tried. I don't think, though, that I want a Glock as my 45. After holding a XD, I've had a desire to own one. I came very close once but chose a SIG at that time. The XD45 has some of the qualities that I am looking for in a 45. I just dont have the hands on experience to make a good judgement and I need your help with this. So for those of you that have had the opportunity to shoot both the XD45 and the G30, how do they compare?

not sure how they compare, but I can honestly say that my XD45ACP recoils very softly and is very fast back on target. Not at all like my USP. I was so happy when I first shot it it's not even funny.

I have actually shot both, i think that the G30 anf XD45ACP are very similar if not equal in recoil, the XD IMO is a little more than the G21. But i prefared the XD45ACP over all glocks because i find the grip angle on the XD a lot more comfortable and better recovery from mussle kick in between shoots. later i added hogues grips on the XD45ACP and it helps to have a more firm grip and control the recoil (not that the recoil on the 45 is going to kick you of your shoes) I am also trying to learn more about this recoil control thumb rest that i saw on ebay, i think it could help.
Hands down i go with the XD, that is why a week later after trying the G30 and G21 i went with the XD. Hope it helps |

I've been looking to get a polymer 45 for a while now. Basically my choices were a Glock 21 or a USP-45. I've fired both, and liked the USP quite a bit. The Glock was a great shooter but too big for my hands. I found a used Stainless USP-45 for a great price, and was thinking of getting it. But now this new XD45 is out. I've fired an HS2000 in 9mm, which I liked but it did not do anything a Glock 17/19 didn't do. And the Glock has perhaps the best finish in the industry. How does the recoil of the XD45 compare to the USP-45? How good is the XD finish? I need to make a decision soon, as the dealer won't be holding that stainless USP for much longer. If I get the XD, I'll get the 5 inch model. Thanks in advance, -ziomatrix |

I have both a G30 and XD-45ACP. I had both at the range today and I put a few hundred rounds thru each. To me the G30 has less recoil than the XD-45. However as said before I think the grip on the XD is a little better.

Sorry to get off topic
I just joined. I am real interested in buying a XD 45 ACP and wanted some personal feed back. Is it all the hype that is put out on the internet?
I have not shot one yet but while at the range the other day I was told to come here and talk to ya'all.

I can't think of any reason not to get one. I'm happy with the purchase. I was supprised at how well they are selling. When I was at the range today there were two other people that had the XD-45ACP. Both of them were happy and the range-master said there were three other people on Sat that had one with no problems with theirs.

I don't have any problems but I'm 6'1" and 255lbs .. Just from observation it doesn't seem like it would be hard for the average person to conceal.

just what I wanted to hear. I was waiting for this gun forever (or it seems that way). When SA introduced the XD9 I was excited the same with the 40 and 357, but the announcement in 45 I was wating for came in the form of GAP. YUCH!!! I have always been in line with the 1911 and when the military got rid of them for the 9's it broke my heart.
I used to carry a 1911(colt) for a long time and during my divorce I sold all of my guns. I am now ready to get back in the saddle and think I have found the correct saddle. Sorry for the rambling.
