Hmm. Seems like just a bad lot or something. I've been running the factory included mags and factory mags I purchased online. Nary a hiccup. Shot about 2k rounds, didn't clean gun or mags and shot 2 matches, back to back and it ran smooth. Seems you just got a lemon but as always, SA made it right for you. Have fun with your pistol.

My problem evidently wasn't mag related, but they switched them out for me anyway.
He test fired my gun with the new mags in it and it worked fine with the new barrel, so I wanted the new mags too.
I don't think there was a bad lot- they just said they have improved the mags.
He did say the new one's have stiffer springs. (Firmer mag springs might fix some of the malfunction issues that some appear to be using the AGP springs for.)

I'm not sure if there's any other differences.

Well, my gun came back from SA with a newly fitted SA match barrel.

(What does that tell you about their position regarding this issue and current barrel fitment/specs...)

The first guy who worked on it told me he shot 100rounds through it with no problem.

I got the gun back and it was REALLY tight. Took a considerable amount of pressure just to break the slide loose to rack it. It didn't want to go all the way into battery either.
I had 2 FTF's on the first 2 mags with Speer GD's and Powerballs.
My range ammo malfunctioned every round.

Went to field strip the gun and couldn't get the slide off without a mallett!
Way too tight.

Gun went back a second time and got bumped to a supervisor. He re-fit the barrel and sent it back after firing over 200 rounds with no problems.

I ran 4 mags of my range ammo through it (200 grain RN) and had no problems.

I still need to shoot the gun a lot more, but I am optimistic that the gun will now shoot like an XD is supposed to!

I also noticed that the new barrel is very accurate- more so than the factory barrel that was in there before.

This has been a very frustrating thing for me. I've only shot 3 IDPA matches in the last 3 months because this gun would not run right.
That really throws you off your game.

All in all, SA did step up and I'm hoping this problem is behind me.
Just wish we'd figured it all out sooner.

I'll report back again after I've shot a few hundred more rounds...

Well, I shot close to 100 rounds at an IDPA match a couple of nights ago.

Gun ran perfectly with the newly fitted match barrel from SA.

I've run appx 140 rounds through it and SA ran over 200rounds with no malfunctions so far.

Looks like the gun may finally be fixed.

It's been another week. Have you at least heard from SA?

No reply. Had a break this morning and called the woman from SA who had initially responded to my first email and got her voice mail but no return call. I am betting she is out sick or something. I will call again tomorrow and hang in there until I speak to someone.

I have heard nothing but glowing reviews(for the most part) about SA customer service and warranty work. I hope that you are correct and the person you are assigned to is out sick or had a vacation planned.
