Took 'er Out for her Maiden Voyage....

First outing today with my new XD45....two words: very impressive. 100 rounds of assorted factory ammo, 230 grain WW white box hardball, 230 gr. JHP Winchester Ranger, 185 gr. Golden Saber...not one problem. Once I got into the "groove" - I had been shooting my 1911 S&W Scandium Commander prior so it took a little getting used to - accuracy really started improving. After a 20 round warm up, my groups started getting smaller and smaller. And not one failure of any kind. Recoil was anything but punishing, factory white dots sights were dead-on, and very visible in my indoor range.

If Canyon Creek starts doing trigger jobs on the XD45, I'll probably have mine done - they did an outstanding job on my XD40 Service but the factory trigger job on the new XD45 is plenty good for now - a little bit more "foreplay" than I would like - but more than adequate for serious defense.

This gun is a winner folks! You are gonna want to shoot it a lot.
