Well... After a call to Springfield Armory and speaking with Debbie there, it seems all the 5" slides have the Tactical rollmark... Not so rare after all... But it felt good for 5 minutes to think I did!

i bought my XD45 Service because my BIL didn't like the trigger.. the price was right, and i liked the XD once i held it.. liked it better when i shot it..

i would like one with the thumb safety, though..

i've never regretted this purchase..

i had gone to the gun shop the day i turned 21 looking to buy a para ordinance 1911 for 500 that they had. but when i got there it was gone and i saw the xd for cheaper , and thought hmm i dont really like polymer frame guns , but its a .45 and holds 13 rounds.. and seems safe enough. so i bought it and i loved it. gonna buy a second one here soon.

Because I wanted a lightweight pistol for carry, and no matter how much I want to like glocks, they fit me like poo.

$500 and 13+1 I can hide in my skinny waistband, plus stone cold reliability? I'll take two.

Because the ergonomics of all the Glock .45s (at the time) sucked for me. Wanted something in .45 that could either be carried or used on the nightstand--the 10 round versus 13 round mag does quite nicely. Wanted something reliable and polymer.

It's since become my favorite piece of polymer goodness.

I have been a 1911 man for years. I wanted a "different" 45, and started looking around. Since I was familiar with the 1911, I looked at the HK 45. It was a very large gun. I kept looking. The Glock 21 caught my eye. the grip was large, but, I had read and heard so much about the Glock that I was intrigued.

A couple years went by and this HS2000 was now an XD, and available in 45 acp. I went to the gun store and looked at the Glock 21 and the XD 45 Tact. The XD was smaller in my hand, but that Glock 21!

My cousin bought a G17, I shot it. It worked fine. but did nothing for me. I like 45`s.

Back to the gun store and a look at the Glock 21 and XD 45 Tact that they rented. I told the salesman if you let me shoot 10 rounds through each gun I will buy one.

I went with the grip safety.

XD is definitely more 1911 like then glocks. (grip angle, grip safety)

At first i wanted a 1911. Saw this XD .45 bi-tone sitting in the shelf. Was cheaper, more capacity than a 1911, and looked nicer, and it had the 1911 feel to it. I shot one a while back and it wasnt too terrible so i thought i would pick it up. Been carrying it everyday since i got used to it.

Crawling the gun show for CC smaller than my P89.
45 was the target cal.
Tried on many before finding the right fit.
Two mags -10 and 13 - bonus.
First trip to the range put such a smile on my face that had some thinking I had the Selma Hayek snake dance clip out of "From Dusk Till Dawn" on perm-a-loop in my brain.
