I traded a piece of crap PT1911 in on mine. Best trade I ever made. I did a lot of research on the XD. I didn't do any on the Taurus and boy was I sorry. So I was glad they gave me such a deal at the gun shop.

because...

11 rounds of .45 on the go. 14 rounds of .45 at home.

My pinky rests perfectly on the the bottom of the ten round clip. The grip is the toughest thing for me to conceal. So any more would be a waste and any less would affect my grip.

Higher capacity .45 that fit my hands well enough.

In my opinion it is one, if not the greatest gun ever produced. Every time I pull the trigger I get an instant smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling in my belly.

For me the question isn't why did I buy an XD-45, it's a) why did I sell the first one and then b) buy another. Answers: a) I was an idiot and b) I came back to my senses. My doo-doo brown tactical is never leaving me.

I had purchased an XD-9 first because I didn't want to spend the money on ammo for the 45. After shooting it a few times I liked the way the 9 fit my hands, the sights, and mag capacity. I began to realize that it had kick, but not the kick I was looking for. So I found an XD-45 on sale and had a $100 coupon and could also get 2 free mags. The choice was very simple. The 9 is the plinking gun and the 45 is for when I really want to put a hole in something. I have been very happy with both guns.

Mostly because of the reviews I had read. I wanted a 45 and had a SA GI Micro that would never fire 2 rounds without stovepiping. I traded it for cash then found my 4" service black on black. It came with a Safariland flashlight and mount at a very reasonable price so here we are. Plus, and a big plus: 13 rounds of .45 ACP, what's not to like!!

I wanted to replace a Taurus PT945 that I have had for over 10 years with something nicer. I read the reviews and this forum and was trying to decide between a S&W M&P compact a Glock and the XD.
I already have two 9mm Glocks and after going to the gun shop and checking them all out decided on the XD after the store owners reccomendation and trade in offer.
My wife said the balance was my birthday gift!!
