Hard to believe anything SA says when they are contradicting theirselves. Someone else was told by SA that it wouldn't be released for another year.

I would lean more toward the one year before I'd believe the 60 day one. If the gun really is ready to be released in 60 days, then it would have been at this past shot show. The fact that it wasn't tells me that it's going to be a while longer.

I'd bet it will be at LEAST after the SHOT show. My experience and I am sure many have seen the same is if you call SA on ANY new product that they KNOW is in production they will tell you eaither NEXT month if it is late in the month or LATE THIS month if it is early. When the Sub Compacts came out they must have bounced that at me for 6 months. A dealer said "Ah, it will be after they SHOT show, thats when SA and EVERYONE comes out with the hot new stuff.

The Sat after the show, I found the gun.

I wish that they did not force all that crap down our throats. It seems like a trick to get as much of the stuff that they may or may not be selling a lot of out to the folks who want the gun bad enough. I know my GAP came with the holster. I know holsters are a personal thing, I would have NEVER bought that holster otherwise, BUT, I wantred the damn gun so I fell for it.

I did the same thing with their light. That was not so bad, at least it has a use. But I never would have ponied up and bought it if I was not googling at the gun and had to have it.

I love my XD.... but this sure is intriguing. I'd love a 1911 but sharing the same platform would be sweet as well.

anyway I just popped over the J&G and found this.

Not when that contract specs manual safeties.
They will also have to put a lanyard loop on it. This is not as big a stumbling block as the manual safety, though.

Oh no...Springfield may do what Taurus did with the Thunderbolt rifles...tease us with website photos and an NRA Show showing and still not bring the thing to market for almost a year.

Gunmakers are known for doing just that.

Remember when the first 17HMRs were due out and how the cartridge was out long before the guns that actually shot the round were out for sale?

I hope they're not putting this out there a year in advance, but it would not shock me too much if this was the case.

Kinda, except it was much easier to get a 17hmr rifle then it was to get the actual ammuniton. incase you dont remember there was a shortage of 17hmr ammo and alot of people with guns but no ammo to shoot in it. And if you did find ammo you paid a premium for it. So actually the ammo was a bigger issue then the guns for the 17hmr, trust me I remeber it like it was yesterday.

sorry link didn't work. Anyway J&G has them listed for $506 in all flavors but SS.

Just read something about that Taurus yesterday... I've always wanted a levergun but that looks like fun. Especially being able to hold the trigger while cycling.

Yes, like the old Winchester Model 12 shotguns and the Model 62 pump 22s, you can slam-fire the Taurus Thunderbolt. 14 rounds of 45Colt or 357 mag ought to do the trick. Slam-firing the Model 12 12 gauge is alot like fanning a single action revolver - a neat trick but not very accurate.

The thing about the Taurus Thunderbolt is it's very short pump cycle. I once shot a 44-40 caliber Italian copy of the Colt Lightning (a 1200 dollar replica) and loved it. Almost no recoil, fairly quiet and you could pump and pull the trigger so fast, it sounded like a semi-auto. The Taurus version ought to be just as fun - especially in 357 magnum.

Even though I already own a Marlin 1894 in 357 (awesome rifle, BTW) I want one of the Thunderbolts really bad. I love cowboy guns, so one will definately be in my safe someday. Its definately "cowboy cool."
